Makeup Foundation: The Right Shade for You

Assalamualaikum ladies. ^_^

Hello everybody! How are you? ^_^ I ada masa few hours today for blog. ^_^ Semalam dah jumpa my supervisor and dah pass my thesis to him for review. Esok I kena sit down balik dengan supervisor untuk correction lagi. ^_^

Well actually, I nak share tips on how to choose shade of foundation to suit your skintone. Masa I tengah main-main makeup dengan my besties kat Univ dulu...I realized that tak semua orang tau how to choose the foundation color correctly. Ramai yang akan pilih shades yang lebih cerah from their own skintone. Which will result in kulit muka nampak macam ada layer putih kat muka. Or....terpilih yang gelap from the skintone.....which akan nampak macam kusam. If you buy your foundation kat makeup store macam MAC or Bobbi Brown, you can just simply ask the Sales Assistant (SA) to "color match" you. Senang lah if ada SA kan. But if you girls like me yang suka beli from pharmacy (my fav is Revlon, remember? ^_^), kadang-kadang takde SA pun kat situ yang nak tolong color match kan.

So here is how to choose it correctly. I guna liquid foundation sebab I'm a big fan of liquid foundation. But this method works for any type of foundations....compact ke cream ke...boleh pakai this method. ^_^

Okay....first thing...You have to pick at least tiga foundation shades that you think closest to your skintone. Sorry...I only have two in hand. Boleh la erk....sekadar nak tunjukkan kat you girls how to choose it. ^_^ (minta maaf sebab I tunjuk my face without makeup on. baru bangun tidur and baru lepas mandi. Hehehe)

From the bottle, these two seems closest to my skintone. 

O my...tak tahu nak pilih mana satu yang sesuai. I'm in dilemma~~~ =D

Then pickup some tester and apply strips of foundation kat jawline (rahang). If you pakai makeup masa nak pilih foundation ni, remove you makeup sikit pakai wet tissue or something kat area jawline. The best result akan shows when you have clean face. Then apply those shades tadi kat rahang. Make sure you ingat which one is which okay. Nanti kang penat-penat buat test pastu lupa nama shade tadi. Adoiyaiii =/

The reason why we test kat rahang is because girls jarang dapat discoloration kat rahang. Tempat lain selalu kena discoloration especially kat pipi sebab penggunaan blusher. So rahang is the best area untuk such test. ^_^ Ada paham kaaa?

Okay. Lepas dah apply foundations tadi...blend in (ratakan) each of the foundations separately.

Ratakan foundation tadi guna jari. Jangan bagi bercampur pulak.

From this you dah boleh nampak dah sebenarnya which one is your shade. Tapi if the shop guna yellow light, you have to go outside. You girls must dapatkan cahaya matahari (natural daylight) and tengok dalam cermin...which one yang dissolve kat skin without any streak whatsoever.

You girls boleh nampak kan kat gambar kat atas tu. Shade Warm Golden blend in nicely into my skin. Where as the Early Tan tu nampak gelap from my skintone. So...my true shade here is Warm Golden (Revlon Colorstay). Then masuk balik pharmacy and beli the correct shade. ^_^ Senang kan? ^_^
