Reasons Behind my Hiatus

Assalam lovelies. ^_^

It's been awhile, right? ^_^ I was on hiatus last week. Sorry for not telling you girls up front. Tapi some of you yang add me kat facebook (link kat sidebar) knew about this sebab I update my facebook like...selalu. Hehehe. Cerita nya begini, I got a phone call from my Master's Research Supervisor pagi Rabu....telling me that I'm gonna have my Viva Voce (It's a Latin words; pronounced as vee-va vo-che; means 'with living voice' or bahasa pasar nya, 'thesis defend session') on 8th July...... (-,-") ....... It was like a week away that time. Jadi I was freaking out sebab I sebab I tak prepare lagi. T_T Huuu. Teruk kan? T_T

Sudden memo

My supervisor cakap, the reason they want to do it cepat-cepat is because the external examiner ada conference kat KL and if possible nak attend my Viva je sekali harung. He said lagi, it's better buat cepat-cepat, cepat sikit boleh graduate. Ya right! LOL. So I agree. That's why...last week I tak dapat nak update blog or reply your emails. I'm sorry. I memang dedicated my time last week untuk prepare my self to war. Perang untuk defense my research. Hahaha.

Cuak okay bila fikir you have to DEFEND your work. T_T Can you imagine, you done your research for more than one year...and you only have 20minutes to present it to all the professors yang dah tentulah expert dalam bidang ni. T_T So yeah...I called and met some of my colleagues yang dah lepas viva minta encouragement. Alhamdulillah, they are very helpful, Kak Ayu, Kak Izzah, Arfah, kak Nadirah and Kak Mimi...fuh. I memang tak boleh lupa la jasa diorang. ^_^ They said, I have to practice a lot and study my own research. What ever the examiners/professors ask, jawab dengan tenang. As long as I did this research on my own, there's nothing to be worried about. Whatever pun I dah grad dah. This is just the procedure. Owh..they are so sweet. 

Hubby pulak, hari-hari called bagi encouragement. Last Thursday night, hubby sampai rumah agak lewat dari Kertih, sebab banyak roadblock Bersih, tapi sampai-sampai, he helped me go through my slides and tolong correct kan apa-apa yang I terlepas pandang. He's so sweet! I can never ask for a better husband than he is. ^_^ Do you girls know that he's my stylist? Haha. Sampai nak masuk viva pun dia pilihkan baju and tudung semua for me. Haha. I have to look professional, like a lecturer if possible; he said. Cause I've been on low self esteem because of my baby face for like forever...I'm afraid people will take me for granted because of it. Hahaha. Childish I know. =P

So yeah. That's me during question and answer or shall I say during the war. Where I got tonnes of questions regarding my research. Nampak agak tenang bukan? hahaha. I was actually duduk masa present, sebab my supervisor know my condition and asked me to wear the microphone instead (that build in mic yang tak boleh sangkut kat baju. T_T). Turned out, my voice is louder than the speaker. Hahaha. Lagi pun all the panel examiners duduk kat depan I je..meja bulat. So..lagi la senang. Hehehe.

There are my panel of examiners. Dari kiri is my Acting Head of Department of Postgraduate merangkap chairman of the day. Then, there's my external examiner (meaning examiner yang di import dari universiti lain to assess my research), the internal examiner (from my university), my supervisor in green shirt, and also my co-supervisor yang janggut nya panjang sampek ke lutut. *kidding* Hehehe. As you can see...there are multiracial academician there. Sebab I studied in international university, or....perhaps you girls lebih familiar dengan UIA. =D hehehe. 

Ever wonder siapa yang tangkap kan gambar-gambar ni? Hehehe. It was my husband. He was there the whole time. Sebab viva voce ni memang open to public. Anyone can enter. Huhuhu. *lagi la nervous* My supervisor bagi advise few hours before I masuk viva, katanya, if they (the examiners) ask you a lot of questions, it means you have a lot of results/findings in your research. They simply shows their interest in your project by asking questions. So guess what? My question and answer session berjalan selama 1 hour and a half. I was in that little room for about 2 hours; 20 minutes for presentation and the rest of the time Q&A. (-_-") Lepas dah berpuas hati menyerang...the chairman minta I tinggal kan bilik untuk bagi masa diorang bagi keputusan. Alahhh....macam sesi discussion judges dalam American Next Top Model. ;P Hahaha. CUAK!

Masa tu...Allah je yang tahu macamana I rasa. There could only be four possible results....

1. Pass with minor correction
2. Pass with major correction
3. Pass with no correction
4. Fail

So...verdict yang ke 3 and ke 4 tu memang jaraaaaaang sangat berlaku. Selalunya the first two tu. Based on the questions they gave me masa defend session....I predicted that I have to undergo Major correction. I pun macam pasrah je la kan if kena buat major correction...sebab if possible I nak submit all my thesis by 18 July to be able to Convo this year. 

Then I was called in....I sorang je pulak tu. Orang lain termasuk husband semua tunggu kat luar. T_T Then, the chairman cakap...."We have come to the desicion. We decided that you passed with minor correction. Congratulations" Masa dengar dia cakap minor tu....Ya Allah....can you imagine betapa besarnya I senyum? Hahahahaha. Seriously. Lega dan syukur nya tak terhingga. Can you imagine, susah payah buat research...akhirnya membuahkan hasil. I feel like a heavy monkey yang selama ni duduk kat bahu I ni....has just lift up from my shoulder. Ringan je rasa. =D

Now I still have to do some minor correction. So next week I'll be busy with correction pulak. InsyaAllah if tak de aral melintang I nak submit my hard bound thesis by 18th. If sempat kejar. Hehehe. So...presenting muka penat-viva-2-jam-balik-kelaparan I ni. Hahahaha. XD *okay I don't know why lately I senyum tutup mulut. It wont happen again I promise!* Hahaha.
