Just Yet Another Bride to Be Story
Every girl has a dream to be a bride.What she doesn't know that the job to become a bride is exhausting and never ending.
I fell into that dream. lol. A generic dream of a young girl.
There's no second thoughts tho....but the idea of marriage plus the Malay customs and traditions seems frightening. Terlalu banyak adat.
I know we'll go through somehow.
At first, both me and Mr.fiance-to-be, thought that engagement (as today's engagement trend) is just a waste of money (we are against the engagement). For couples like us, who have known each other..like..forever, the idea of engagement is kinda funny. Coz..engagement is made untuk kenal each other before kahwin, and we are like....dah kenal dari kecik kot. That's why we dont see why we have to engage. What we want was just a simple risik plus hantar cincin tanda ceremonies. Just for families to get to know each other.
But you all know what will happened when we brought this matter to elders. lol. Everybody urged us to "just engage". lol. Funny kan? There's no such thing as "just engage"...why? engagement memerlukan belanje yang....quite big....when I said big...I mean big preparation for "mini kenduri" plus hantaran and baju tunang. Not included mini dais and MUA, yang for KL market price is about RM600 for mini dais and RM250 for makeup. okeh! hahaha
When u are the eldest child in the family, u'll know how freaked out the parents will be. Ye lah kan...first majlis kahwin and such...They have to constantly be reminded by me and mr.fiance-to-be to not to spend unnecessarily. We both want grand receptions...that's why we dont want unnecessary ceremonies.
Yang ni pon, my mum dah spend like thousands just to repair and did mini renovation to the house. *sigh*
However, dalam memberontak xnak tunang tu, both of us turutkan juge permintaan both families yang nak kan kitorang tunang. lol. (rase cam malu je bile ikot mak g jemput sedara mara datang majlis. tersipu2 you. haha).
In five days, we'll be engaged to each other, InsyaAllah. And I hope everything will run smoothly and be blessed by Allah, the most Gracious. Amin.
